MESAT is pleased to announce the successful completion of an important solarisation project in northern Mozambique, which has now provided clean, reliable and sustainable electricity to hundreds of households in the beneficiary community.
The project included the installation of 607 hybrid solar energy systems, each equipped with a generation capacity of 2,1 kilowatts-peak (kWp) and storage capacity in batteries of 4.8 kilowatt hour (kWh), ensuring continuous and sustainable access to electricity.
The conclusion of this initiative represents a significant milestone in expanding access to renewable energy and supporting the socio-economic development of local communities in Mozambique.
Due to its size and complexity, the project involved more than 80 employees during the phase of higher execution intensity. The MESAT highlights, with particular satisfaction, the active participation of women in technical functions, including scaffolding and electricity works, strengthening their commitment to the diversity, inclusion and capacity building of the workforce in the energy sector.
The project required the implementation of different solar panel assembly solutions as well as the safe use of lifting platforms and scaffolding systems to ensure efficient installation in different conditions and environments.
In addition, specific cabins have been built for the safe installation of energy storage systems, providing greater protection, security and long-term reliability.
Security remained the main priority throughout the project. All activities were carried out in accordance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), ensuring the protection of workers, community members and the environment at all stages of implementation.
